Getting up = Showing up.

You may be faced with challenges on a daily basis, and you deal with them to the best of your ability. That isn’t you trying, that’s you doing. In other words, pay attention to the words you’re using to describe your effort.

Here are 5 reminders to help you to continue with the great job that you’re already doing:

The little things add up. Be okay with that.

We put a lot of pressure on ourselves, and sometimes we have to learn that it isn’t about giving it your all every. single. day. Some days can be minimal and I mean doing the absolute least; pick one thing – just one – and it can be small and go with it. Work on it and feel accomplished once it’s done. And then repeat the next day, and the day after that.

Check in to check out.

Your mental health matters and some days you don’t have to show up. When things get to be too much (which is likely going to keep happening), you usually know when you’ve taken on too much. Check in and ask: “How am I doing today?”, and pay attention to the answers that you’re blocking. Why? it may be time to check out for a bit. by creating some necessary mental and emotional boundaries so that you can feel better.

If you don’t want to, then you don’t want to.

Can it really be that simple? Short answer: yes. Everyday that you’re fortunate to wake up and get up, that’s you showing up. You don’t have to push yourself if you don’t want to. If you don’t want to do something – then don’t. The word “no” exists for a reason, and tomorrow is a new day.

It’s okay to get help. It really, really is.

There is nothing weak in the THOUGHT: “I need help” and there definitely is nothing weak in the ACTION of seeking it out. Think about how it will FEEL to show that kind of courage. This is why the world is filled with talented people who can help you, and some are probably closer than you’re willing to admit. If someone has offered their help, and you feel like this will serve you in a positive way – accept it. No one is judging you but you.

Treat yourself like the best.

The world isn’t going anywhere. If you are not ready to face the day, remember – again – that tomorrow is a new day. The world will be ready when you are. So, what version of yourself is your world seeing? What does your self-care look like? Treat yourself like the best, so that you can offer the best version of yourself,
